Summer Adventures in our Wasatch Backyard

Book This Trip Inquire

Here at BBE, our expert team have dedicated their lives to the mountains and chosen the Wasatch Range as their home ... for good reason! We just can't wait to share the breathtakingly beautiful and wild Wasatch mountains with YOU.

BBE offers guided summer programs for all ability levels from the absolute beginner climber through to the seasoned multi-pitch trad expert or ultra-trail runner, and has tailor-made each AND every one of our introductory, technical, custom and education rock climbing programs here in the Wasatch Range, to allow the absolute max enjoyment of the incredibly diversity to be found in extraordinary home. The Wasatch Range offers a wide variety of climbing, and all types of rock, in one place! Climbers will discover a huge diversity of options, from easy slabs, and fun cracks, to steep and overhanging cruxes. There is no other climbing destination in the USA that offers such a diversity of climbing in a small area: we encounter both granite, quartzite AND limestone in the Big and Little Canyon, so it is no wonder climbers come here to experience the Wasatch's truly incredible climbs.

Our rock climbing courses expose new climbers to fundamental climbing skills that are difficult to learn in the gym. Whether you’re progressing toward becoming an independent outdoor climber or you just want to be comfortable assessing others use of climbing anchors and single pitch systems, BBE's courses will teach you the skills and have you put them to use. Our kid's rock climbing clinics allow us to spend time outside and expend some of that extra energy! Developing new skills that demand responsibility and safety.

Or why not try one of our epic 1 to 2-day traverses! Or an ascent of the South Ridge of local emblem Mount Superior. Depending on the time of the year and the conditions, Superior can be a full day of relatively easy alpine rock climbing in a stunning alpine environment, or a tougher snowier day filled with a range of challenges that will require a strong desire to succeed!

At BBE we combine extensive qualifications with decades of accrued experience, combined with a deep-held understanding and love for nature, and a dedication to protecting the wilderness areas we visit. Come and experience the perfect adventure this summer in this pristine environment.

Although none of us have experienced a pandemic before, the BBE family of staff, clients, and our providers all around the world have quickly risen to the occasion in whatever way they can around the world. In turn, we would like to thank everyone we have heard from for their kindness and support.

Looking forward to this summer, we sincerely hope you will join us to enjoy the wilderness and distancing the vast and majestic Wasatch provide.

Getting outside to destress, move our bodies, breath in fresh air and build our defences with some vital vitamin D, has become more important than ever.

As specialists in designing customized adventures and experts in risk planning and mitigation, we assure that we are able to conduct our activities with maximum safety measures during the Covid-19 crisis. Some of our efforts mean the following:

  • we can currently accept private groups only
  • no car pooling
  • hand hygiene measures at regular intervals
  • avoid touching face
  • masks where possible or sensible e.g. at belays
  • social distancing of 6 feet minimum
  • flexible plans, declaration of any symptoms whatsoever
  • adhere to CDC, federal state and county guidelines
  • clear safely briefings
  • shared gear will be disinfected in the sun or washed between use
  • Leave No Trace

We urge everyone heading out to enjoy the outdoors to be mindful of how their individual actions reflect on the whole outdoor community. The key will be for individuals to take a sensible approach to their activities, use your judgement to manage the risks, and to consider the social responsibility we all have to each other, to protecting our emergency services and to minimise the transmission of COVID-19.

  • Be prepared: Some car parks, toilets and other facilities may remain closed
  • Be considerate: Think about how your actions might impact on others
  • Be COVID aware: keep hygiene in mind at all times, and avoid sharing food, and drink with others

Please rest assured we are holding our usual dates, providers and guides, to provide our expedition experience to its usual high standards of success and excellence, despite the uncertainty at this time. We have of course endeavoured to build suitable cancellation policies into our bookings for the season to accommodate circumstances.

Half Day Kids Rock Climbing Camp

Spend time outside and expend some of that extra energy! Develop new skills that demand responsibility and safety... Unleashing a kid on a climbing wall enables great physical rewards. The low-impact sport of climbing helps them strengthen their whole bodies—from their fingertips to their toes, including those ever-important core muscles. Moving from hold to hold also helps them build stamina, coordination, agility, flexibility, and balance. Plus, what parent doesn’t want to see their kid being active and having fun instead of staring at a screen?

If you cancel less than 31 days, but more than 5 business days, before your trip’s start date, a credit will be issued for the full amount of your deposit, but no refund is available. Credits must be used within 365 days from the original start date.

No date changes or cancellations can be made within 5 business days of the start of the trip or course, and in this instance neither credit OR refund will be available.

Changes to a trip itinerary made by our guides for any reason do not constitute a cancellation, and no refunds will be made in this case.

Due to the above policies, we recommend that you purchase travel insurance from a travel agent.

The activities you engage in during your program may require a degree of skill and knowledge different than other activities that you have participated in and you have a responsibility as a participant to be in optimal physical condition and health. You are voluntarily participating in these activities with knowledge of the potential dangers involved, as well as the knowledge that some dangers are unforeseeable and uncontrollable, and the knowledge that these dangers exist no matter your physical and mental preparedness.

You must follow all instructions given by WMG and your guide without question, even if you do not agree with those instructions. On a trek or expedition, our guides reserve the right to remove any person from a trip for any reason. These reasons include jeopardizing the safety of yourself or another team member or physical inability to climb at the level necessary for the chosen route.
