This fall, we will, as always, be offering a full range of Himalayan opportunities. We will run our Mount Everest South Side Summit Climb, and our really fun classic Everest Base Camp Trek, culminating with a night of comfort at the BBE Base Camp! We have decided the best season to guide Mount Everest is in the fall, further explained in our blog post here

We look for climbers who share our ethics: teamwork, shared responsibility, compassion, and fun!

Benegas Brothers Expeditions has long been a leader in mountain safety. We are known for our professional integrity and maintaining a strong safety ethic among our team. With the explosion in the last five years of the popularity of climbing this peak, and the addition of new operators into an already incredibly complex system, we have decided to climb Everest in the fall this year, and reap the benefits of a quieter mountain, always with the highest safety standards in mind,

As always, it’s important for our support staff to be up to standard as well, so each year you’ll see us training our Sherpas in crevasse rescue, mountain medicine, and first response. In fact, our training sessions have grown so popular that Sherpas from all across base camp come to us for training and safety skills. We will have a doctor on call 24/7 for online consults during the entire expedition.

With the experience of over a dozen seasons of summits and a strong and loyal staff of Sherpas, kitchen crew, and base camp support, climbing with Benegas Brothers Expeditions is an Everest expedition incomparable to any of the larger commercial operators. Our level of service is renowned, our base camp a true family experience, and our passion for the mountain unmatched.

As we prepare for next year, we continue our tradition of leadership and attention to detail. We don’t cut corners. We conduct the absolute best program that we can, and you won’t be disappointed. For Everest climbers we are now offering pre-training with a 10-day course in Ecuador, and closer to home, on Mount Baker for 6 days.

Are You Ready for this Expedition?

Altitude Experience

Climbers must have a significant climbing background to join our Everest Expedition. Climbers must have ascended at least one 8,000-meter mountain before joining us on open registration. Climbers must be competent to climb technical terrain with an alpine pack on their back. Climbers should also be comfortable with camp life in high-altitude camps and be able to function at a high level for multiple days at altitude.

Technical Experience

Must be capable of climbing intermediate rock, ice, and snow terrain, usually with an alpine pack on your back. It would be best if you were comfortable with camp life in high-altitude camps and could perform at a high level for multiple days at altitude. Previous ascents of numerous 6000 - 7000 meter peaks are recommended.

Fitness

Climbers must be in ideal physical condition to participate in this expedition. This is conceivably the most crucial aspect of high-altitude climbing and cannot be stressed enough. Everyday demanding exercise for many months before departure is the best way to gain the basic fitness level needed on significant peaks. We highly suggest a structured conditioning regime with a gym or private trainer to aid you in readying for climbing at altitude. Don't hesitate to contact us for more information on physical training.

“Why not make the best investment you can?”

“I have been climbing big mountains for 20+ years. Having been on multiple Himalayan expeditions, I will never consider another guide or outfitter other than BBE moving forward. They lead the pack from a logistics, infrastructure, food quality, personal attention, and safety perspective by a WIDE margin. Willie is not only an extraordinarily strong, capable, seasoned guide, but he is also a great expedition leader and teammate who manages to keep the atmosphere light, fun, and inclusive despite the serious nature of Himalayan climbing. Most of us only have one chance at Everest. Why not make the best investment you can, choose BBE! ”
