Mera Peak

Mera Peak, at 6462m, is the highest “trekking” peak in Nepal. Situated on the edge of the majestic Khumbu Region, she is dominated by Mount Everest with spectacular panoramic views in all directions.

As you know, BBE is here to give you a truly extraordinary journey. From our world-class guides to highly-trained Sherpas, amazing cuisine, to unforgettable camp setups; at BBE, you’re welcomed into a unique family of passionate, friendly, expert climbers; dedicated to experiencing the wonder of the Himalayas together. The BBE Mera Peak Expedition includes one IFMGA Western Guide, one IFMGA Sherpa Guide, and of course, our phenomenal BBE Sherpa and Camp Staff.

Although at altitude, Mera Peak is a straightforward ascent with high altitude glacier walking of relatively low angle. Whilst we prefer members to have some experience with glacier travel and using crampons and an ice axe, with the right attitude for learning and a high fitness level, this expedition is suitable for first timers in the high mountains. We descend from Mera via the Amphulapcha Pass, which adds a stunning finale to our Mera climb. We choose this route not only for the breathtaking views but also to provide an enhanced cultural experience.

Mera Peak with Baruntse Extension 2018

23 Days: APRIL 7 TO APRIL 29
At 21,247 feet (6462m), Mera is one of the tallest “trekking” peaks in Nepal. The view from the summit is one of the finest in the Himalaya with five 8,000m peaks visible: Mount Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, Makalu, and Kangchenjunga, as well as other Himalayan peaks below. The standard route involves high altitude glacier walking of relatively low angle. Our expedition to Mera Peak is a complete Nepalese mountaineering adventure, encompassing a high-altitude trek and the climb. Our new twenty-three day itinerary utilizes tea houses to make this a lighter, faster, and more comfortable trip, camping only at Mera Peak as well as for the beautiful Amphulapcha Pass, which adds a stunning finale to our Mera climb and allows us to accompany Baruntse climbers almost to their Base Camp. We choose this route not only for the breathtaking views but to provide you with an enhanced cultural experience.
