Benegas Brothers Expeditions

A beautiful sight this morning as a snake of headlamps worked their way up the icefall, many climbers headed for a good summit window on May 21. We wish them well!

We are hanging back to let the crowds pass and members are departing BC the day after tomorrow. Today, Reagan Mac and John are headed to Pumori High Camp for magnificent views of the summit of Everest, where they will be standing at 8848m in just a few days time.

Willie and Damian departed early this morning and are at C1 organizing, redoing melting cooking platforms, and are headed on up to C2 tomorrow to do the same. Masks, regs, summit suits, Gatorade, gels and chews, you name it, have to be strategically positioned!

All that in addition to tents meals and of course oxygen! Thankfully the latter is already in place which has allowed our incredible Sherpa team to rest their bodies this week as well as take part in our annual first aid and rescue refresher course! Willie was a splinted and packaged victim carried all over BC in snow! Super fun comradeship and teamwork … we are so grateful to be such good friends with our Sherpas.
