Great excitement in Base Camp as yesterday and today pots and pans have been banging due to the first south side summits of the season! Huge congratulations to everyone and especially the Gorkha team who gallantly climbed to 8848m yesterday helping fix summit ropes! Our own members heli-ed back from their Namche Bazaar backdrop this morning, recently greeted by our BC team with huge hugs and a roast rack of lamb!
The waiting game is on for a calmer, warmer and quieter summit day, and our team is ready! Our o2 is up at the South Col, lithium batteries ready (unstoppable batteries for cold summit night!, duracell’s big big brother), meals, snacks, you name it. Damian, Willie and Georgie are hard at work printing and comparing weather forecasts daily over and over, trending, talking to other teams, getting ready.
Meanwhile, eat eat eat everyone! Get strong and enjoy our great morale and excitement in camp!
