Benegas Brothers Expeditions

Finally we are on our way, after weeks of preparations, shopping, packing and countless hours of packing. A 48hours flight across the world and many days of repacking everything (and more shopping) with many trips to the airport to receive our group members.

Thursday finally saw a 4am wake up call, more packing with some mates in between (Argentinean tea if you haven’t tried some yet) and a quick transfer to the local airport for our flight to Lukla.

For the first time in many years that the whole process at the airport was  a smooth and fast process. Less than a hour later after we arrived at the airport, we found both ourselves and all our luggage on the flight to Lukla.

A rather bumpy-flight and an as-ever bumpy landing brought us to Lukla, and the real start of Everest 2014!

After all this, we are finally enjoying a welcome day of resting! Every year I look forward to spending time in Namche Bazaar, at the Sherpa Land Hotel and the Illy Cafe, and of course sharing this with all of my friends.

All the team is doing very well and everyone enjoyed our rest day. Tomorrow we will hike to the Rivendell Lodge in Deboche from where we will enjoy our first views of Mount Everest.
